And, Warriors do spend alot of thier time working on a specific weapon, it is what they do, they're warriors.
The same applies to mages.

I would not be saying it'd be "required" of warriors, it'd just be a perk for some warriors who do not want the same old doldrum life of a warrior, give them some more options to work on.
Nearly everyone has done every possible combo, and well, that is just boring.
