Often I play stupid characters who are easily confused. They've noticed that people talk about a lot of wierd stuff and let it go.
So perhaps it might be a better idea to just nod slowly or shrug.

Pretty much the easiest way to be a good rp'er is to pretend you are your character and not playing a game.
