That advice you are given when choosing a class... we don't recommend you try a class that needs empowerment on your first try... LISTEN TO IT! A fine start out character is and arial warrior, sword spec to start, or perhaps an arcane transmuter. Thief as well, won't die all that much with hide, can explore as well.
