I think it would be convient to have the option
of quoting a message you are replying too. But,
to deter people replying to a novel length post,
quoting it all, and putting "me too" at the end,
have two buttons you can press...

[post reply]
[post reply with new improved quoting!]

And ala glimo's the quoted message would be put in
the message box area so it can be formatted/editted/cut
etc..
