I had something similar happen to one of my chars. Mysteriously transferred to the realm of the dead without explanation, and returned without a word or action taken, then being mysteriously blacklisted from a cabal with immortal instruction not to speak to me. I am certain I was suspected of cheating or some fishy behavior even though there was absolutely no fact, only suspicion, behind it. I can sympathize with the imms, because they have to put up with alot of shit. And almost everyone single person they speak to will lie through their teeth. Does this excuse them? Ermm..whatever. I just think there are a few imms who hate the morts and assume everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Lighten up for Pico's sake!
