> The cabal situation in Thera is quite frankly a joke. ALL cabals are equally guilty of violating their core beliefs at some point to some degree, with some instances more extreme than others.
> You people will twist and distort your actions or situations in some feeble attempt to justify it with your cabal's beliefs. I have seen this many times over and over and it goes on without any corrective action whatsoever.

> Xzortok is absolutely 100% correct. Absolutely nothing can justify an alliance of the ragers with any faction which has mages as members. Not one good response has been posted here though Dhaevor says he has one and I would be most interested in hearing it though I am sure he doesn't or he may just think he does. If ragers kill warriors which travel with mages or accept their spells AT ANY TIME IN THIER CAREERS (I have heard this many times as an excuse for a rager to kill a warrior) then by all means, every member of Sylvan should also be targetted by the rager. I could see Sylvan not warring with some of the ragers since their doctrine does not specifically state that they will harm those who travel WITH defilers (though I am not sure on the current state, though I am sure this has beent twisted too to justify some pk attempt), but this makes for a very sticky situation which creates many more problems than it is worth.

> Let's all face it. This game is run almost exclusively on man's instict to dominate, to seek power over others, to gain respect and instill fear in others. Things which many of us who play CF cannot attain IRL due to frail frames, lack of drive and discipline, academic pressures and other factors which plague your typical "computer geek". (But come on, if you play cf for 8 hours a day you certainly have time to go to the local gym to do some PT or go out and socialize, but I digress). Roughly, all this translates into PK and consequently nice kit. Nothing gets the adrenalin pumping like a good pk attempt or being hunted getting chased all around Thera.
> And what better way to PK and dominate? why, join a cabal with many extra nifty skills and members to aid me and protect me in my hunting. Hence, the cabal is created.
> Greater than 90% of cabal members join primarily to PK with roleplaying a distant second though you do get the odd person who is probably sick of the pk machine syndrome and wants to give roleplaying a good shot.
> I have no problem with this for I believe it is in our nature. But to join a cabal, pk and then twist and lie your way out of it in an attempt to justify it is totally pathetic in my books (just take a look at all the threads where the the children all argue, point fingers, degrade each other in order to bolster their fragile egos and in utter frustration, when they know they can't win their argument, they scream "STOP WHINING", hell, look at this thread for example.)
>
> Why not strip all the cabals of their powers?
> Then we would see only people who are truly interested in roleplaying joining them which is what they were intended for in the first place or at least that's the impression I was under (i.e I don't see too many troupers cause last I heard, mixing drinks wasn't such a hot pk power). Why can't you have an organization of mages who all are part of a unique society or warriors or evils or goodies for that matter? They would all share the same beliefs and work together which is encouraged, but why give them all these extra skills which make it pretty tough for independents who do not share their views to be successful.
> I am not anti-cabal, I know they add flavor to the game. I am just anti-cabal power. With powers comes domination, with domination comes human nature which pretty well fucks us all over. We act heinously, we backstab, we steal, we cheat , it's our nature (I know I sound pretty Scarabitish but it's true *chuckle*). The imms can't be everywhere all the time and tons of incidents where people blatantly go agaist what they profess will go unnoticed. The Imms are only human as well with the same tendecies and hangups as everyone else and they get influenced by the maelstorm that is Carrion Fields as well.

> Well this is longer than I expected, but I will just conclude with this. The cabals are in a deep downward spiral and have been doing so for some time, as such, I tend to stay away from them personally. Some serious kinks have really got to get worked out of the system, like some concrete conditions established having to do with rager-sylvan relations, master-empire relations, alignment relations within cabals and the sect relations. Basically a huge overhaul of the cabals is in order. And a policy of "you fuck up, you get out" implemented by all cabals, not just the Empire (which I applaud greatly for doing so).
> Anyways, nuff said, see you in the fields.
>
> P.S. This isn't a whine in anyway, shape or form, it's just my opinion of a method of avoiding much confusion in the "grey" areas between cabal relations lately. So if you are gonna flame me, be more original than saying "stop whining" because I am really amused by flames and enjoy seeing new ones, they make me laugh.
