Your gaze falls upon a skeletal figure clad in dark grey plate armor. The
undead creature moves with a skilled warrior's thoughtless grace, more like
a death knight or skeletal warrior than a lich. Closer inspection of
the armor reveals signs of alterations made to it. What were probably once
pieces of a suit of full plate mail have been replaced in some places by
lighter chain or nothing at all. The armor in general seems too big, like
it was fit to this man in life and made over large by death. Twin pinpoints
of incarnadine light float in his hollow eye sockets. Several of his bones
look to have been broken in the long past. A large sword is slung across
his back, the hilt very ornate and well crafted, and what little of the
blade you can see is shiny and appears well maintained. A blue tabard is
worn over the breastplate of the armor, and it is decorated by what you
assume to be some kind of family crest or other heraldry. The standard
is that of a dark phoenix clutching bolts of lightning in its talons.
