In Reply to: Proud Blade, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Dhaevor would routinely eat multiple invokers for lunch, the only way they had a chance was having the head n/t. posted by *boggle* on April 9, 2000 at 14:00:02:
1) I referred specifically to Zomerseis as an example of how a well-played invoker is quite tough at the higher ranks. I would still stand by my wager that a prepped Zomerseis trumps a prepped Dhaevor, because "prepped" often means than a Master Invoker is damn tough, whereas warriors can do a lot less without the aid of another. This is no slight towards Dhaevor- a completely unprepared Dhaevor would whoop up on a completely unprepared Zomerseis. It's just how the game works. Warriors are near the peak of their power almost all the time. Mages have peaks and valleys.
2) Player skill (which both Dhaevor and Zomerseis have an excess of) will -always- win out over race/class/cabal combo. You could probably give Dhaevor or Zomerseis a svirf arcane trannie(*), and they could take down a newbie playing any hero race/class.
(*): Insert your favorite silly race/class combo here if you have a soft spot for svirf arcane trannies.

Invokers are versatile, can deal out tons of damage, and can often make mincemeat out of anyone with a racial vulnerability.
