On April 22nd, 2000 (year of the new millenium! Everyone remember to mark of your calendars for the new millenium! At church this Sunday, Reverend Phillips will be asking if this is the 2nd or 3rd millenium! Woe be to he or she who is wrong! HAHAHHA! Coffee and strudel at 11.)
Jack Gount and his wife Ellie arrived at the annual Gount dance in the evening wear. Although 79 years young, they hipped and hopped with the energy of a 60 year old! Despite the smell, many young folk gathered around to cheer on the Gounts. One young man was reported to say, 'Gounts? Screw this, I'm getting high and gonna log on to CF with my wood-elf Nepenthe acolyte'.
Although those of us at the Evening Gaunt are still deciphering this crazy bit of youthful wisdom, rest assured that the rest of us devout Gount followers will not let a day go by before we tie the Lutheran reverand to the railway and chant, 'Long live the Gounts' as the Union Pacific 9:05 rushes across his confused, thrashing body.
On a side note, the entire town denounces the previous Treasurer, Krevanice, for vile deeds of naughtiness and bestiality from the night of July 17, 1999, when the Mayor's daughter was impregnated and Mr. and Mrs. Krevanice were found in their attic with a note reading, 'Long live Pete!' dangling from their (description of their bloodied, mangled heads removed from the editor)
