Actually... someone DID do it before Abernyte. Thrym. If I recall correctly (and this is second-hand knowledge learned from a friend), Thrym attacked, killed, and overthrew the current village leader of the time (the guy whose scalp is on his belt... Breadfan or something :P) for being "weak". He then got made leader.

Anyone's free to correct me if I'm wrong, or just don't have it quite right, but I'd say this sets a pretty good precedent. As you said, not that you care, but I thought I'd mention it.
