Backstab (Level 1)
Syntax: backstab (victim)
Backstab is the favored attack of thieves, murderers, and other rogues. The damage inflicted by a backstab is determined by the attacker's level, his weapon skill, his backstab skill, and the power of his opponent. It requires the use of a piercing dagger. Only thieves may learn to backstab. Creatures much larger than the thief cannot be backstabbed.
Dual Backstab (Level 30)
High level thieves may also practice the "dual backstab" skill. If the first backstab succeeds, a second backstab is automatically attempted.
Notice that neither specify that the dagger must be in the main hand...or that you have to be wielding two daggers. Dual backstab is done with one dagger:
Poke
Pull out
Poke
So if he was dual wielding daggers, and one got disarmed, he just did his backstabs with the one that was in his offhand.
