Having played ragers on occasion, bloodthirst has its pitfalls, regardless of what some might say. I have seen people die because they were thirsted, you can't sleep, rest, or even sit when you are thirsted, and it's really hard to redirect attacks while thirsted. Mana drain is a concern when you are thirsted as well since you get so very little while in that state. A rager can go from full mana, thirst, to zero in seconds flat. Spellbane and resist each take 50 mana. Throw in some berserks, bind wounds, or whatever you can think of that take mana and you could be in for a world of hurt...
Rager powers are what they are and having been on both ends of their powers, I think I can honestly say, it balances out fairly well. Honestly, don't come down on powers until you have tried it from both sides. My advice for anybody that thinks Berserker Ragers are overpowered is try one against a shaman or necro. It can hurt.
