I don't think that Svy's tactics should really be criticized....Marans are almost an exact parallel to Battle ragers in my opinion: Honor's important, but killing evil/magic is even more important (which is why ragers can gangbang mages). Do what works (if Svy were a Knight doing this, then there'd be a problem). If you have a problem with his tactics, just think of all the times Battle bards frightful fiend.
