When you see the line:

"You feel fatigued"

You will notice this guy's movement changes. It happens twice that I noticed after very brief observation. Once, when his movement raised (as Jagaub noted) and the second time, when the damage killed him, and we didn't get to see his movement change.

So, apparently, you get a save. If you miss it, you see the line "You feel fatigued" and your movement is halved. If you make the save, you see *gasp* *gasp* a MASSACRE and no movement shift.

So, Jagaub was right, as far as I can tell.
