This character unfortunately autodeleted while I was at sea for a month. I thought the interview went fairly well though...
Sitting Room
You are in a pleasant sitting room that serves as the antechamber to the
master bedroom. Windows on the west and south walls let in plenty of cheery
sunshine and wonderful views of the city of Galadon. Comfortable chairs are
set about a table with some embroidery hoops on it. The hallway lies to the
north and the master bedroom is to the east.
[Exits: north east]
(Translucent) Daubaen the gnome is here.
Daubaen closes the door.
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen bolts the door to keep out pesky villagers.
Llorimarr looks around for a place to sit.
Daubaen says 'Now...you seek..eh what is it, ahh yes, you seek the towers
training.'
Daubaen nods.
Llorimarr spys a comfortable chair and plants himself in it.
Daubaen says 'tell me why you seek the tower..'
You say 'I seek the tower to advance my knowledge. I have heard told throughout
the land that the tower advances magicks and sorceries.'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'Well..guilds do that...why not just be a member of your guild? Why
the tower? '
You say 'I wish to train as much as I am able within the tower. To learn all I
can. And to advance the learning of others.'
You say 'Guilds certainly teach some knowledge. Not enough though. I want to
leave no avenue closed.'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'leave no avenue closed? Are you questing for magic? '
Daubaen says 'What are your motives for seeking the tower? '
You say 'I am questing for magic, and that entails learning more then just
incantations. Without great knowledge of all things affected by magic, and all
things magic affects, a mage is but a shadow of what he can be.'
You say 'motives...'
You ponder the question.
You say 'To define motives as more then my thirst for the best I can be is
difficult. Let me think of proper words...'
Daubaen nods.
You say 'Though the study of magic is my greatest motives, I am also moved by
the camaraderie of the tower, the teamwork of all five magics together - which
of course cannot be obtained in my guild, the capacity to eventually impart what
knowledge I have gain'
You say 'gained to others who seek to follow this path.'
Daubaen says 'If you were allowed to practice amongst those of the tower..'
Daubaen says 'What you use that magic for? '
Daubaen nods at you in agreement.
You say 'As an invoker, most incantations I know are destructive. I would hate
to be pigeon-holed into simply defending the towers interests (though I
certainly would). My magic is an aid to exploration, it helps in defeating
impediments to the gathering of'
You say 'knowledge.'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'is that all your magic does? destroy?'
You say 'No, my magic creates, but the forces it creates are quite destructive.'
You say 'As I said,'
You say 'I do not wish to be pigeon-holed as a destructive mage. The more I
learn, the more ways I have of using magic to advance itself.'
Daubaen says 'So the magic of invocation destroys, and creates...creates what? '
Daubaen gazes out the window whilst he waits.
You say 'it creates the elements. I invoke water, fire, ice, earth and air. I
can use these to sustain life by creating water for example.'
Daubaen says 'You created water? '
Daubaen says 'Did you create all the leements? '
You nod.
A water skin is filled.
Daubaen says 'Well I must thank you..I really enjoy this lace called thera...you
made it very nice.'
Daubaen says 'I feel very at home here..of course ive lives here all my life.'
You say 'Of course not directly. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. I used
create in a local sense.'
You say 'The elements are invoked into the immediate location.'
Daubaen says 'So now it cant be created? '
You say 'That depends on how you define 'create'. The matter must have been
somewhere to begin with. Perhaps the immortals can create something from
nothing, but I as an immortal create something from magic.'
Daubaen says 'Ahhhh'
You say 'I admit, I lack a lot of knowledge. All the more reason for me to
study. One can never know enough.'
Daubaen says 'If I were to snap my fingers and level all natural aspects of
thera, would that make your magic stronger? youd liek that aye? '
You say 'Level all natural aspects? In what capacity do you mean this?'
Daubaen says 'Trees, clouds, lakes, nature as a whole...You would like to see
magic gone im sure.'
Daubaen says 'nature rather not magic.'
Daubaen chuckles politely.
Daubaen utters the words, 'abrazak'.
You say 'Nature itself is not my enemy, for nature is only a source of material.
'
Daubaen raises an eyebrow.
Daubaen says 'Then why the war waged by the tower against those that protect
nature? '
You say 'The true enemy of magic is not nature, but rather those who seek to
preserve'
You say 'nature.'
You say 'These people would put the lives of inanimate trees and non-sentient
animals above the betterment of civilization and the advancement of knowledge.'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'I see..'
You say 'Nature in its raw state is nearly useless - only by harvesting the
resources of nature can it be put to good use.'
You say 'simply destroying it would leave us with no place to live.'
Daubaen says 'Tell me..'
Daubaen says 'You im sure have seen a thinderstorm..'
Daubaen whispers 'thunder rather.'
You say 'Of course.'
Daubaen says 'In what way is your lightning bolt, different then the lighting
that you see strike down momentarily...other then the fact that it comes from
your fingers..heh.'
You say 'Hmmph, lightning bolts do not yet fly from my fingers. But if they
did, they would be directed and precise, while those from a thunder cloud are
chaotic.'
You say 'also...'
You say 'The thundercloud discharges lightning because of an imbalance. It
cannot control (pardon me if I personify it) this.'
Daubaen says 'personify away..'
You say 'Lightning in nature flows from charged area to uncharged area. Magical
lightning has no such limitation.'
Daubaen says 'Why so? '
You say 'Magical lightning is guided by sentience. It is created by skill, and
directed by will.'
Daubaen looks at you.
Wise beyond his years, Llorimarr is a student of magic.
Dressed in grey robes, embroidered in silver with all
manner of symbols arcane, he moves with grace and purpose
from interesting object to fascinating events.
Perched upon his head is a battered grey felt conical
hat with a wide brim that shades his soft hazel eyes
from the harsh glare of the sun.
Llorimarr, a male gnome, is in perfect health.
Llorimarr is using:

Daubaen says 'Sorry for my scilence..many call out to me at times.'
Llorimarr sinks deeper into the chair.
You say 'Understood. As I said, I am patient.'
Daubaen says 'have you been workingon your spellweaving?'
You say 'I have.'

Daubaen says 'How many spells has the guildmaster taught you?'
You say 'I have perfected six of my spells, and have learned all that my
guildmaster has made available to me.'
Daubaen says 'how many has he made available to you? '
You say 'thirteen'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'hrm..what is your ranking in your guildhall? '
You say 'I have met the 10th rank - the minimum to be considered for the Tower.'
You say 'I seek to perfect my spells before learning to many new ones.'
Daubaen says 'I see..'
Daubaen says 'a moment.'
You say 'Perfection of incantations is part of the studies of the Tower, is it
not?'
Daubaen says 'Of course..'
You nod.
Daubaen grumbles and growls. You wonder what's wrong....
Llorimarr wonders what's wrong.
Daubaen says 'Trying to speak with you and many are calling to me.'
You nod.
Daubaen says 'Tell me of your obligation to your guild? Do you feel that your
place in your guild is as a student or as a teacher?'
You say 'As as student foremost. My knowledge is still quite small within my
guild. Within the guild, I am careful to whom I might teach, for some would use
that knowledge without wisdom.'
You say 'However,'
Daubaen nods.
You say 'No one can be only a teacher, for a teacher who is not a student has no
knowledge to impart.'
Daubaen says 'Aye, that tis a wise statementin itsself.'
Daubaen says 'Well we in the tower like to learn on a peer basis. THough I am an
adept of my magic does not mean that I cannot learn from a young maser..or even
an inductee.'
You say 'Indeed. The quest for knowledge never ends. One must be ever vigilant
for new opportunities.'
Daubaen nods.
Daubaen says 'I have enjoyed out talk llorimarr'
You say 'And discourse with ones peers is a quick way of spreading nuggets of
knowledge found.'
You say 'I too.'
Daubaen says 'I shall speak to the Lords, Lady and Lich on your behalf.'
You say 'I will continue my studies, as always.'
Daubaen says 'You have my blessing to enter our training..but you need to now
seek out a god of the tower or out lich leader.'
You say 'I will do so. Thank you for your blessing.'
Daubaen utters the words, 'xafe ay candusqarr'.
Daubaen disappears.
