So what you are saying is that if someone comes up with a character at level 1, they should never change that regardless of what happens. So when you roll up that char, you already know that you're going to be a battlerager. You're probably one of those people whose idea of a rager is the 'last survivor of the village destroyed by mages' role.
Heaven forbid that people actually interact with others around them...and now take a deep breath here Erlien...and they are affected by them! I inducted Minalcar. I knew what he was like coming up, and I was with him on the shores of Cocytus. There's an irony of how the events played out there and what they lead to (which I will leave unsaid on this forum...I even have a log). The point is, he is a different character than the one that went into Hell.
It is a mark of a good RPer that they can evolve their role based on their experiences.
What is so special about following a script?
Ok, I'll roll an evil character. Then I'll petition to become neutral or good. Then I'll forsake my spells to get a quest form, and so on. Many people do not evolve their RP because, yes, it is hard to do. This is why so many Anathema's delete within a week.
Not that I'm saying that you can't plan out
what you want for a character, but rather that you shouldn't ignore prime opportunities to flesh out or make changes to it.
My advice is to be more vague in your character from tbe beginning. Let your life be shaped by experiences. These are the characters that become legend.
