A commune that doesn't lag you and does a hefty amount of damage is not so terrible against a necromancer without alot of zombies. I haven't played a revamped paladin for very long, yet, but the two-round laggin' dedicates are out (if you don't want the sleep/pwk's the necro was trying to cast to land), and wrath is pretty fast and damaging. But, to the paladin, I'd advise:

1. every time you wrath him after he rescues, do a "k necro" before the next wrath - it doesn't lag you much at all and your blows will land on him and not his minions.

2. if you're going to sit there sucking up his/his creatures' damage while you're spamming wrath, be sure to invest in some more damage reduction utilities than you did. Sanc/protection doesn't cut it.

I think if you did 1 and 2, the wrath spamming would have "worked" for you (although he would have just fled and teleported unless he was crazed and lagging himself from the vamps).
