From my observations, if you're shield spec, you'r pretty much going with the same strategy against mages. You hope shield jab works and you spam your wrath and heals. Against fighterso or another communer, you certainly go with your new skills. I remember when shaman's would wup my ass cuz after the dispel, it was time to flee or die. Now that there's stuff lagging and even hurting the shaman enough to make him think twice going on the offensive, things are more balanced.
As for two-handed paladins, from what I've seen, they can use their new stuff cuz the owaza action high damage is where it's at. Also the other skills can really give a real edge. Actually, come to think of it, there's a real parallalism between what these paladins got and what the assassins got..kinda sorta.
shield is for old school, two-handed is for..um the warrior-wannabes with sanc.
