Before an Onyx Altar
A giant onyx altar is the most dominating feature of this room. It is a
huge block of smooth onyx, jutting out of the northern wall. A row of
rotting heads line the front of the altar, their faces permanently frozen in
an expression of horror and fear. Blood can be seen splattered about the
room, and the stench of death is in the air. Twin torches blaze on either
side of the altar, casting their light across the room. The floor is a
tile mosaic, depicting a black scarab. Runes drawn in blood decorate the
door frames to your north and south. If you can brave them you might pass
through those openings. You can leave this evil place to the east.

The Steps of a Dark Temple
Tall, sparse trees grow to staggering heights around you. The area is
eerily quiet and unnaturally dark. Before you is a large, stone building
that seems oddly comfortable and even mysteriously beautiful in this dank
environment. The steps look to have been white marble at one time, yet are
now stained a grungy grey color. Large ionic columns support a stone covering
of the steps. Wide blocks of white granite lie on both sides of the stairs.
Two black statues of wolves rest on each of the blocks. Above the pair of
doors is an engraved seal of the scarab.
