he (a Blade) suggested that defeating a paladin was nearly impossible unless he enlisted the aid of the Black.

If it were my sect, I would definately say something to him. If he'd demonstrated lapses in the past, I'd probably Anath him, as well. When the Warmaster is in your group, I imagine you should pretend the gt is the sect/cabal channel, and also, exhibit the ultimate superiority of the Blades for as long as he is witness.
