1) Master your controls.

2) Until you master your controls, if you use a client, highlight "You fail to maintain." I'm sure I don't need to say how important noticing stuff like that can be. (I learned the value of highlights when Kacic and I had Zorszaul entwined in Frigid, and I didn't notice spellbane drop in the spam... d'oh...)
