First off, I'm not terribly worried about parry, since I don't fight in normal form often, and the skill is near perfect anyway.
> Also, lets see if you think it was a good trade off. You slow/soften/fumbled him at a cost of 552 hp...and had he been smart enough to bash (you didnt have control translucence up) You would have lost the other half of your health.
You're completely wrong here. First off, I was only rank 31 at the time of this fight. I didn't HAVE control translucence. If I did, I garrentee that it would have been up. As it was, the first time he showed up and attacked the golem to lure me out, I checked to make sure he wasn't a gnome or svirf. Being an arial, and thus, already one size catagory above me, I simply reduced myself, and became too small to bash. It's called making do with what you have, and planning ahead.
> Im jst saying I have played a few master trannies and this is not how i would have approached this. If you have THAT much confidence in the wolfen form that you will fight him with 565 hp, you should have just gone ahead and done it with 1100. There are times when you need to fight a wariror in normal form..this isnt one of them. If you were halting him, or fighting him at the archmage then would be a good time as well.
Actually, if I was fighting him at the Archmage, that would mean he had his powers (most likely) and I would have scourged him once, MAYBE twice (if he wasn't thirsting), and then shifted. The reason I went out and slowed/softened/fumbled, is because I wanted to make sure he didn't get away before I had a chance to finish him. Soften allowed me to do that. Slow just made him easier to hit, and reduced his chance of dealing lots of damage starting with the free hits from casting to start combat, and continueing with reduced attacks, and less hits if he flurried. The fumble really wasn't necessary, but I figure it wouldn't hurt too much, given the circumstances. Personally, I think I did splendid considering that was only my second fight with the wolf. My first being a fight with a rager thief who HAD powers, but managed to get away before I could finish him. There were certainly other strategies I could have used, but he kept attacking the golem and was starting to piss me off, so I just picked one I knew would work, and went for it. Either way, he died, and fairly decisively he only did slightly more damage than transform provided.
