Far to the north, you see the river getting wider and see a huge island
sitting in the middle of river, dominated in its middle by a tall white
tower.

You stand at the northern end of the Temple of the Sun. It is a beautiful
sight with all the stained glass, frescos and statues. To the south you see
the most beautiful stained glass window above the altar. You can exit the
temple to the east.

The ray was Gruxinbort. I don't know what protections he had, but I'm guessing just stone skin. I also don't know how long he'd had the ray at this point, but the shark was very new to me.
