yeah I agree with Nepenthe here.
The code isnt a rule of thumb. It is something that a paladin lives by, Tho depending apon his faiths, spheres, god. It will vary in different strengths. You never should ignore any single rule of the code.
But as i used as a example before.
A paladin empowered by Holzt would have to kill good alins.
A paladin empowered by Shokai wouldnt be allowed to come into the same area as a lich and not attack it. Nor would they even dare holding onto a red aura item untill a paladin could remove the taint.
A paladin empowered by Zulgy wouldnt be your average paladin, Tho i've not thought about the rp and it's major changes to your mord dominat paladin code, I sure as hell know it would be nothing like holtz or shokia paladins.
A paladin empowered by BoltThrower again wouldnt be like that of A shokai Paladin.
Nor would he kill a good alin like a holtz paladin would.

Picture the paladin code as a equializer.
Each twelve rules have a count of ten on them. The number represents how high you hold the paladin code rule in comparison to others.

shokai pal 9 10 6 3 10 8 9 6 10 9
holtz pal 3 7 10 5 8 8 10 10 6 9
etc etc

Depending apon your characters setup - sphere god rp angel etc. It will all vary. The danger comes when one of the 12 rules pushes its way all the way down to 0, when you effectivly ignore the rule. You can push the code rule as far as you want, but there are consequences. It is set up this way cause for any paladin the code cannot be flawlessly followed without haveing conflicting code rules with the players rp.
It is up to the players judgement to apply the rules to his rp as best possible without neglecting them to much.
