1) Get out of scanning range if you need to take a drink or eat.

2) Vanish instead of trying to run away, and always carry at least 2 different potions for quick escape purposes.

3) Don't try to assassinate somebody directly after fighting them. Logic has it that all of your stalks are negated when you engage the person you've been stalking, of course CF isn't always logical.

Those are just the really simple things that A) might have kept you alive
B) might have made you successful at assassinating Kaejof.
