A group of four ragers raid and take the codex. I kill Jirgolo (the only one I can harm). I rest up a bit and figure I'll weaken the giant while Jirgolo's ghosted. I didn't think I'd be able to kill it before Jirgolo unghosted and probably chased me off. So, the reason for the poison/plague, I thought I'd have to make a hasty retreat and didn't want the giant healing while I left. And yes, I'd do the exact same thing over again.
