1) A sufficiently motivated person (see above) can do very evil things with the anonymity of the Internet, especially by manipulating people who are trying to do the right thing. (That picture was the least of his offenses.)
2) You almost never know for certain the age/gender/background of the person you are dealing with. Most "proof" can easily be forged. The object of your text-based grunting and such may well be a 12 year old boy. (As far as the parental supervision thing, many parents are probably OK with a violent RPG/adventure game, but would think twice if they actually knew about the shady underbelly part.) Or the apparently dreaded "big fat hairy guy." (*)
3) Yes, there are roles that may call for occasional "adult" interaction. Plenty, actually. However..... I'll make an analogy to people that play CF only to PK, and hate roleplaying. There are plenty of MUDs out there that are explicitly set up as PK-fests. Go nuts. Kill 'em all. Why play CF, when people will bitch at you (and penalize you) for not roleplaying? Ditto for people who feel some need for frequent online sexual satisfaction. There are plenty of places on the 'Net set up for just that. (Probably a few too many.) Go there, have your jollies, come back to CF. Stop trying to pounce on anyone with a description.
