The courtyard of the Tower
The flagstones of the large courtyard extend all around you, to the edge of
the marble curtain wall which stands equidistant from the large Tower which
dominates the courtyard. The flagstones are smooth underfoot, and have been
polished down to a perfectly even finish, leaving the courtyard a perfectly
flat plane. No buildings are visible within the courtyard, as the walls run
without interruption around all four sides. Shadows seem to stretch from
every corner across the flagstones, in the pale light of the moon somewhere
far overhead. The Tower itself is the only structure standing in the
courtyard, a faintly glowing shaft of pale luminescence in the darkness.
A large entranceway leads into the Tower itself before you to the east,
while an arched gateway allows the only gap in the curtain wall to the west.

The luminous gates of an imposing Tower
Twin pillars of softly glowing marble rise to either side of a large archway
which stands majestically before you. From each side of the pillars, a thick
curtain wall of the same glowing marble extends, seemingly as far as the eye
can see. The archway seems as if it would be the logical place for a gate to
be placed, however, none is evident.. or visible, at first glance. Long
shadows from surrounding trees fall across the pathway, and only the pale
illumination filtering down from the moon, and that given off by the walls
themselves, light the way forward. Beyond the archway, a small courtyard
leads to an imposing Tower formed of the same marble as the walls and pillars.
The Tower rises several stories above the courtyard, to a walkway that
encircles its circumference, just below a large needlelike black spire.
At the base of the gates, a small plaque has been set into the marble.
