Ghaelok tells Avendella 'May I ask you something that on my oath to the Lyceum I will share with no one'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Do'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'From..hmm...my stuides of Istendil I know much about the rites as anyone outside of your guild can know. I ask not what your work ahead of you is, just..um..*long pause* Have you spoken with the Elven Cleric yet? Have you been granted your quest?
Avendella tells Ghaelok '*silence*'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I have.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I am a changed woman. I don't know exactly how I managed to escape him.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Explain'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Escape?'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Again, I find myself wanting to speak with you. I don't understand the desire.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I will share something then with you. Since our first talk, thoughts of speaking with you again have ruled my days. I not only want to finish this work to feel I ahve accomplish something, but I do, very much, enjoy your company.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Those are dangerous words to speak, Ghaelok.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Whether they are or not, they are truth. I feel....a...kinship of sorts.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I am not the woman I once was.. and though I can offer you some measure of safety, I cannot guarantee it.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I do not ask for protection, Mistress. Merely what time you are willing to give to someone who wishes to be your friend.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'There are none I would call friend, even now.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I have stood alone for more centuries than I care to admit, and it is difficult for me to accept the company of another.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I'm certain that you understand. The battles I fight now, are against more than time.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I have, at best, a tenuous grasp of my soul. '
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I do understand. I cannot change your past....Avendella. know. I will always come to you though arms open. You may not be able to say the word, but I see space in your heart for the word. I...am...your...friend. Without strings.
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'And I will share with no one your secrets again on fate of my own grave.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I.. believe you, Ghaelok.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella '*smiles at you again as the first time in silence*'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'OH! I work on something else you mid find interesting as well..'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I mentioned the histories of the village..'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I look now for information on the first Skjald of Battle, Baldur. I think the story is going to be a grand one.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I've not heard of him."
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'He too lived in the times of Istendil's reign. I happened to hear of him in passing when I was in the Arial city. He was from there I believe.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I've not studied those of that ilk.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'There are others, though, that hold my attention.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Trust me on this, Avendella. Studying a battlerager is for us is like trying to bore to the center of a mountain with a salad fork.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Trothon.. for instance.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'An elf, much like me, only born with the ability to touch the source.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Now.. a lich.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella '*listens intently*'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I have heard of the tower.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'But very little of its secrets escape it'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'There is a reason for that.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'He has gone beyond even the realm of the lich.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'He is.. much more powerful.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Forgive me...but I cannot imagine how much further one could go without becoming part of the heavens from being a....hmm...lich.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'His physical form has gone.. all that remains on this plane of existance is a crystal. You may recognize the term demilich.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Oh! Yes! Indeed I do know the word.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'I think it has to do with what happens to the essence of a lich when even the coil that was once its body fails.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'From what I understand...that would make him....ancient.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'Intriguing, is it not?'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'Indeed it is...Have you faced him?'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'He does not take notice of me, and for that, I thank the Gods.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I've enough to worry about, without.. adding him into the equation.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I've never felt.. such pain.'
Avendella tells Ghaelok 'I do need to find Jeurno. Perhaps, he could heal the wound.'
Ghaelok tells Avendella 'if you come to the Inn...I have some medicinals, I am practiced some, I would be willing to soothe the pain in any way I can.'
*Long pause as I wait for her to come to the Inn*
Ghaelok jumps at Avendella's arrival.
Avendella looks at Ghaelok.
Ghaelok stands up.
Ghaelok bow before Avendella.
Avendella nods slightly.
Ghaelok says 'It is...um...its good to see you again'
Avendella says 'Are you able to offer me a glass of cold wine, Ghaelok?'
Ghaelok says 'Gladly'
Ghaelok says 'let me fetch it for you'
Ghaelok gives a glass of white wine to Avendella.
Ghaelok says 'Its only the house wine but it is good'
Avendella holds the glass to the light and nods her approval.
Ghaelok says 'Please...sit so that I might take a look at your wound?'
Avendella glances longingly at a chair before shaking her head.
Intricately designed, silver chimes sing softly on the breeze as they dance on the delicate lobes of her pointy, elven ears. Flawless skin, pale as first snow compliments the thick, full chestnut waves that flow over her shoulders and down her back. A smile seems to come easily to her face and her enormous, almond shaped eyes sparkle like cold, blue ice in even the least favorable light. Her face is that of a high-born maiden and she carries herself with the grace of nobility, leaving little doubt in your mind that she is just that.
Avendella is obviously favoring her left arm, which is wrapped tightly with white linen bandages. A dark, crimson stain is evident on even this fresh cloth, from wrist to elbow. The wound beneath seems still to weep freely.
Avendella holds out her arm.
Ghaelok sighs.
Ghaelok lifts the bandages very gently.
Ghaelok says 'What did you manage to do to yourself'
Ghaelok blushes.
Ghaelok says 'None of my business'
Avendella says 'This was not the work of my hand, I assure you.'
Ghaelok digs about in his bag.
Ghaelok looks up into Avendella's eyes for a moment then nods.
Ghaelok takes a knife and gently cuts away the bandages.
Avendella says 'The bite of undeath.. the price of my visit.'
Ghaelok says 'I cannot heal this...but I can ease it...although...'
Ghaelok says 'This is going to hurt more before it begins to feel better."
Avendella turns her head, focusing her attention on the flickering light in the hearth.
Ghaelok takes three jars from his bag and some new wrappings.
Avendella becomes corporeal again.
Avendella breathes somewhat unsteadily.
Avendella utters the words, 'xgruuhpyafw'.
Avendella fades into an insubstantial phantom.
Ghaelok mixes a poultice with a little bit of the ingredients from all three jars in a pistol and then gently applies it to Avendella's wound, causing a great burn.
Avendella closes her eyes, drawing a deep breath.
Ghaelok blows on the wound slightly and winces as he looks up at Avendella's calm face.
Ghaelok says 'Aloe, crespring, and lavender'
Avendella says 'Lavender is the flower of the dead.'
Ghaelok says 'its not the best mixture mind you, but it will numb it'
Ghaelok nods at Avendella.
Avendella says 'Wrap it again, if you would.'
Ghaelok binds the wound ever so gently.
Ghaelok says 'It...um..'
Ghaelok says 'It would not hurt you to sling that arm a few days.'
Avendella becomes corporeal again.
Avendella utters the words, 'xgruuhpyafw'.
Avendella fades into an insubstantial phantom.
Avendella pulls her arm close to her body.
Avendella says 'It is all but useless.'
Ghaelok says 'Perhaps Jeurno can do more...I do hope he can'
Avendella says 'In retrospect, I believe my answer will be found with another, entirely.'
Ghaelok says 'which answer?'
Ghaelok says 'Forgive me...I'm always a touch flighty, I was wandering again'
Avendella examines the bandages, frowning as she notes the blood that already stains them.
Avendella says 'It was foolish of me to go to him.. so full of expectations.'
Ghaelok looks up into Avendella's face again.
Avendella becomes corporeal again.
Avendella utters the words, 'xgruuhpyafw'.
Avendella fades into an insubstantial phantom
Ghaelok says 'But you gained what you wished'
Avendella furrows her brow and turns to face the fire.
Ghaelok says 'Small price most would say...Not me though.'
Avendella says 'What.. I wished..'
Ghaelok says 'Perhaps not what you wished'
Avendella shakes her head as a barely audible sigh escapes her lips.
Ghaelok says 'I made it clear I did not assume to know what you think'
Ghaelok says 'But you went there with the thought of persuing the ritual I am almost positive'
Avendella says 'No. You are wrong.'
Avendella says 'He was like me, once..'
Avendella says 'So many years ago. '
Ghaelok nods.
Avendella says 'He summoned me to him. I did not walk into the church. I examined that which he destroyed, with the intent of learning.'
Ghaelok stammers, "I have...never..heard...summoned to him....remarkable."
Avendella says 'Once there, it was.. I did ask.'
Ghaelok says 'Why? If I may be so bold..that is...if you did not seek him out on your own...why ask him when he brought you there?'
Avendella says 'Lead me from life to immortality. The words were so.. it was almost as if I was meant to say them.'
Avendella turns to face Ghaelok, a troubled expression on her face.
Ghaelok whispers 'Then is this what you really...want...for yourself?'
Ghaelok looks down avoiding Avendella's gaze.
Avendella suddenly looks very angry, before regaining her composure.
Avendella straightens her coat and takes a long pull from her glass.
Avendella tosses the glass into the flames. It shatters as it hits the floor.
Avendella utters the words, 'xgruuhpyafw'.
Avendella fades into an insubstantial phantom.
Ghaelok jumps at the sudden show of anger
Ghaelok says 'I ask as not for the book...'
Ghaelok says 'I ask because I find it hard not to care.'
Ghaelok looks back up into Avendella's face again.
Ghaelok says 'I don't judge you or your choice, but I must admit I have my opinion on it.'
Avendella gestures for Ghaelok to continue.
Ghaelok says 'I dare not believe for a moment that you would step back to the light....but no one is iredeemable'
Ghaelok says 'What was done to you none can change'
Ghaelok says 'but to take it further when you have a choice?'
Avendella allows a slow, but evil grin to spread across her delicate elven face.
Avendella whispers 'Darsylon will burn, Ghaelok'.
Ghaelok looks up at Avendella, eyes wide with disbelief
Ghaelok says 'You...intend....'
Avendella becomes corporeal again.
Ghaelok gasps in astonishment.
Avendella brushes her slender fingertips across Ghaelok's cheek.
Avendella whispers 'Danellaran will watch them all die.'
Ghaelok closes his eyes and shivers a bit at Avendella's touch before regaining himself.
Ghaelok says 'And your intentions for the Prince?'
Avendella fixes Ghaelok with almost saddened eyes.
Avendella says 'That, Ghaelok.. will be punishment enough for the Lord Captain Commander.'
Ghaelok gasps as understanding hits him "He will live to see all he loves....burn.."
Avendella drops her hand, at long last, and turns her back to Ghaelok.
Ghaelok says 'It is not all of their faults, Avendella.'
Ghaelok says 'The actions of one....genocide...'
Ghaelok falls back into a chair with a *thud*
Avendella looks at Ghaelok.
Ghaelok puts his hands over his face as your keen ears hear him weeping quietly.
Avendella says 'So easily you change your mind, Ghaelok.
Avendella watches Ghaelok, disapprovingly.
Avendella says 'Did you think me a good woman..'
Ghaelok lowers his hands some as he speaks softly "I do not change my mind. I do not take back my words. I simply....I cannot imagine..."
Avendella says 'Did you think that despite the warnings I've given you, that I was.. '
Avendella raises a curious eyebrow.
Avendella says 'I was pure of heart?'
Ghaelok shakes his head slowly.
Ghaelok says 'I told you earnestly I assumed nothing about you, I could but guess.'
Ghaelok looks up at Avendella, green eyes touched slightly by the fire.
Avendella says 'And now?'
Avendella says 'I've revealed one.. rather small motivation and you..'
Ghaelok says 'I see some good in you. I do not try and change you...*falters and goes silent again*'
Avendella says 'I promise you this, Ghaelok. This.. is only the beginning of what you do not know. Perhaps it is best for you to take back your words.'
Avendella utters the words, 'abrazak'.
Ghaelok regains himself but does not wipe his tears, showing no shame.
Avendella says 'Before it is too late.'
Ghaelok shakes his head.
Avendella places one finger beneath Ghaelok's chin, turning his face to meet her gaze.
Ghaelok whispers 'You do not have to agree with one you consider a friend to be that to them..'
Ghaelok whispers 'I would not pull myself from what I spoke before even if I felt I could.'
Avendella smiles slowly. You take no comfort in the gesture.
Avendella whispers 'Think on it, Ghaelok. There will be little chance for escape, once you get too close.'
Ghaelok looks back into the fire finally as Avendella speak.
Ghaelok whispers 'I think it will be less than little, but I did not come to this world to be sheltered. I will finish my work. I...'
Avendella places a lavender hyacinth flower behind her pointed ear.
Ghaelok looks back up at Avendella, standing to meet her eyes.
Avendella becomes corporeal again.
Avendella nods her approval.
Avendella utters the words, 'xgruuhpyafw'.
Avendella fades into an insubstantial phantom.
Ghaelok says 'I will always offer you my hand. No matter what you do'
Avendella says 'Very well, then.'
Avendella winks mischeivously. The twinkle in her eye gives the illusion of the elf maiden she would have been.
Ghaelok brushes Avendella's hair behind her ear to show the flower off.
Avendella says 'Walk in safety from the hoardes, Ghaelok. I am certain that we will speak again, one day.'
Ghaelok whispers 'Poetry bless me that is soon, Avendella'
