I could make a few comments. Now, keep in mind I'm trying to remember what I was thinking about two and a half years ago here.
1) The shield thing is a joke and my sense of humor isn't all that good. It would have done that particular character more harm than good.
2) Talking about our characters like that (among all people with socket who knew anyway, mind you) isn't something I see as being any worse than what a majority of the players do anyway on IRC or ICQ. . .less, even, because pure mortals have the option of concealing their characters from each other.
That said, sometime later that same year I came to the conclusion that I should be trying to set an example and be "better" than other people as an Imm . . . not just on the same level. I don't have that kind of conversation anymore about characters that still exist.
3) RoA: No big surprise I knew that'd been in the works for a long time. You have to go back to probably '95 to find some change to the game I didn't have a hand in, until very recently.
4) No, I wouldn't have actually used completely OOC knowledge of a hell trip to go ambush people. It's wishful thinking in speech that shouldn't have had to be guarded.
If none of that makes you feel happier, c'est la vie.
