Generalizations are just that, generalizations. They don't hold for every member of the group. They're just something to be true more often than not.
Try to get a random Rager interested in a quest and chances are good you're going to end up disappointed. I've also been pleasantly surprised a few times (e.g. Ahmie, Vizarsh)
Try to get a random Dawnie interested in a quest and they're going to be gung-ho interested. Unfortunately, they also often get lost on the way. :)
Masters have been a great disappointment to me in most cases, but it's very possible that the kinds of quests I tend to run and tend to think are fun just aren't the kind that people in Master like. We'll see.
