Well, since I'm relatively unfamiliar with spellbane and saves and whatever else, I'd say that each thing that hits the can be baned as an individual spell like 4 iceshards or 8 iceneedles. That's a lot of banes. So, hindsight, I'd use cone... Too late, but I've learned.
