When Fienn left, it became just another mob.

Meaning, it was in the process of attacking your special guards (your mobbies). Now, as you know, often when you rescue yourself with your charmies, the mob you're fighting will revert its attacks back to you. That is what happened, here. The eagle was attacking your guards, Fienn left, and the eagle became just another mob attacking you and your guards, and reverted its attacks to you.
