1) Most characters are not bound to a code of honor, or even parity in combat (which is a subset). A Paladin, Servant, and (I think... it's been a while since meeting Lewade) a Sylvan Invoker all have a good reason to want the Imperial dead, and it would be silly for them to line up one at a time to make things "fair". No Ehren Guard there, no Villagers there, no conflict in the Paladin code (if it was even in back then). Go nuts, trio.
2) Wran had a few chances to get himself out of that mess. He had decent gear on him, so it's clear that he probably had time to buy a teleport/recall potion, but didn't. He took the time to yell things at the summoner and two friends. There's a time for chit-chat, and that was not the best one for the outgunned Wran. (It's also the kind of thing that can earn an Anathema on top of a PK.) Also, in that situation, bashing Sladin won't help. Running like a madman might, although the summoner had levels on him, and probably wouldn't miss too many attempts to reel him back in. Still, never underestimate the ability of opponents to make errors. Slap on Imperial Training: Defense if the Codex is home, try to stay alive long enough to get out of the area, let the assassin stuff wear off, and make 'em work for their three on one. Again, Wran was in a tough spot, but it wasn't one of those 100% kill probability situations either.
