Well, since you asked:
Plain nerves. Honestly (I'm not out to win any points) Scarabaeus is an awesome roleplayer.
And, raiding his temple, when he's in the realms? He scares me. I know he won't do anything *directly* to interfere, but having things talk at me out of nowhere and threaten me makes me nervous -
once, when I raided, the Lich spoke up and told me "I would soon notice how much more difficult serving my Lord's task would become" - for a week I was convinced some hidden curse had been laid upon me. When I'm playing with PKs, I'm already nervous. When I'm raiding that ***Temple of Hell*** with PKs defending, I'm *very* nervous (1. there seem to be alot of subtle things going on inside and 2. I have a long history of death and utter annihilation inside that Temple). I'd never admit it in character, but, as a player, I'd rather go solo through the maus at 20 than raid that place with a smart defender (course, I'll still do it as a player). Add to that sentient/speaking undead minions inside...
Suffice to say, I have a good ten CF stories from inside that place. This battle probably only ties for the worst.
> I question why it would matter whether or not Scarabaeus is around, unless it's dislike of having verbal salt rubbed in your wounds by the immortal whose temple you assaulted.
