Rising phoenix kicks were the way to go for most of the fight... Tak knows what he's doing. The kick does something more than just damage (look at the logs carefully).... It wasn't the right choice in all instances, to be certain... when he was fighting only one foe at a time at certain junctures, throwing or using another kick or maybe something else would've been a better choice.
