If you read the Scarab background/philosophy, it is not about evil vs. good. I'm sorry for the 80% of the playerbase that can't get past that, but if you are a Scarab, you have plenty of good reasons to attack a Citizen or Maran, but might have reason to leave the Elf Master alone. I'm actually surprised that more people have not picked up on the fact that you do not even need to be evil to follow the Cult. I, for one, was refreshed to see a cabal idea that wasn't based on dichotomy (law vs. chaos, good vs. evil, magic vs. Ragers, Empire vs. Sylvan), yet had a lot of opportunities for alliances and enemies. And again, in case it hasn't been said enough, the Scarabs are an impressive bunch when it comes to roleplaying, and they understand what they should and should not be doing.
