You dodge a faceless nightgaunt's slap.

Your punch misses a faceless nightgaunt.
A faceless nightgaunt has a few scratches.

The Beginnings of the Imperial City
You stand on a well-maintained road of exquisite engineering. All
around you construction of every type is taking place. Buildings are
being erected to the north and west. Slaves are being whipped and
beaten to quicken the growth of what will surely be an incredible
city. Directly to the north lies the side of a well constructed inn.
The unnamed road you stand on continues to the west, while the
Imperial Road disappears into the mountains to the south. The
mountains block any movement to the east.

[Exits: south west]
(Glowing) A thaumaturgic circle is inscribed upon the ground.
A horned figure of blackest shadow hovers here on soundless wings.
(White Aura) A blazing sphere of light surrounded by swirling motes hovers here.
A raging tower of flame hovers just above the ground.
Kosegravious the human is here.
Suddenly you plummet through the air and are tossed roughly to the ground.
Its task complete, a faceless nightgaunt fades away into the shadows.

Kosegravious entangles your feet and sends you to the ground!
Kosegravious's lash scratches you.
You yell 'Help! Kosegravious is lashing me!'
Kosegravious is in perfect health.

A fire elemental MANGLES you!
You sure are BLEEDING!
A fire elemental MANGLES you!
You are mortally wounded, and will die soon, if not aided.

You turn into an invincible ghost for a few minutes.
As long as you don't attack anything.
