Now, Elves are a race that has a pretty good bond with nature, not to the extent that Wood Elves do, but it is still there. Now you see a being with no soul left, a dead physical shell given life by the darkest, most Evil magics of the most skilled Sorcerers in Thera. A Lich is something that should be so unholy, so terrifying, that even its allies should shudder when they look upon it. Such a thing is considered an abomination by those with any love for Nature. Elven Children would have learned to fear such a thing from birth, and rightly so. There's a reason elves don't practice Necromancy, and it has more to do with the fact that it flies in the face of all they believe in as a race. Ilecyra's "love" for Istendil, and possibly this as well, are simply "I'm gonna latch onto one of the most visible characters in Thera and get me some attention!" Anyway, I'm rambling now, but my point is that for a Lightwalker to even tolerate a Lich, let alone be "friends" with one should be absolutely unheard of. I'm not even certain as to whether Liches should have emotions. Anyway, hopefully this will spark some interesting debate instead of posts saying "God, you're an idiot."

I thought the Istendil/Ilecytra thing was well
roleplayed. I think I would have a similar reaction
to you if it had been poorly roleplayed. Regardless,
this kind of thing should not happen everytime a
new lich appears.
