When unholy weapon was first created there was no iron grip. So, the penalty associated with losing your weapon did not necessarily entail dying. Apparently the imms decided that disarming was too easy a way to strip an AP of his weapon and they were given iron grip. Death is now the only way for an AP to lose the weapon. I had 26 kills in my axe, so I can deal with dying twice this time. However, I know that even an empty unholy weapon will kill if it is sac'd immediately after the AP dies. Point being, even an unskilled AP suffers the double death penalty. I assume that APS are a balanced class. No more overpowered than any other class. There is no lich quest, and they dont receive a fabled form. Liches may have a severe penalty for dying but the power of an AP in no way compares with a liches. Why is there this doulbe death penalty? Your reply is the reply I would expect from an Imm, or anyone who is skilled and knows how not to die very often. However, for the normal AP, the one without a handful of wands stuck up their arse, dying will be a frequent occurance. > Yes. It is necessary. It is the drawback to having weapons of unbelievable power (Look at the one Palan wielded). In my mortal life I lost 3 that had 25+ souls in them, all caused another death. Was it worth it? Hell yes! To be running around with a weapon that is +10/+10 or +25/+25 or +65/+65, it's a risk I'm willing to take. If it is one you are not willing to take, don't cast unholy blessing. > > > <16hp 19m 324mv> > > You turn into an invincible ghost for a few minutes.

This causes the weapon to become attuned to them, and has the unfortunate side-effect of destroying any enchantments on the weapon. If a weapon with this unholy blessing is later used to kill, it will grow in power. It has been noted that destroying one of these defiled weapons will cause great pain to the person it is attuned to.
