An easy set of examples: The wooden cross, crusaders sword, etc, all from the crusader knight. > > You say Scarabaeus took pains to remove references to Christianity from Hell while he wrote it. > True. > > First of all, I suspect he did that simply because he doesn't *like* Christianity and he didn't want to honor it in his master work. > Untrue. I merely left out Judeo-Christian references (as much as possible; I think I was fairly successful) because they have no place in Carrion Fields and no place in our pantheon of dieties. Empires, civilizations, and the like can come and go, and it somewhat appealed to me to think that the Roman Empire (in one fashion or another) may have existed several Ages before current CF time. Other than that, any references to Christianity would have felt out of place and disrespectful (whether you subscribe to that method of spirituality or not). > > Second of all, there were no more references to Christianity in the room description for the Arena than there are in Hell, so your point is useless. > I haven't seen the room, but this is true as well. Pontius Pilate existed as a person both before and after Christ and the importance of his image could be drawn from that alone.
