This thread is almost funny. As a Zoology graduate I couldn't help but post to it to help disseminate the myth that bats are blind.
Bats are far from blind. In fact, many of the larger old-world bats have large eyes and small ears, which indicates they rely almost exclusively on vision.
There have even been studies done using radioactive amino acids to track the optic activity in bats.
But don't take my word for it... Here are just a few journal articles you can use as a reference to see some facinating research in this area..
"Retinofugal projections of the big brown bat, Eptesicus fuscus and the neotropical fruit bat, Artibeus jamaicensis." AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ANATOMY 1985 Feb; 172(2): 105-24
"Organization of the second visual area in the megachiropteran bat Pteropus" Cereb-Cortex. 1994 Jan-Feb; 4(1): 52-68.
"Sound localization in an Old-World fruit bat (Rousettus aegyptiacus): acuity, use of binaural cues, and relationship to vision" J-Comp-Psychol. 1999 Sep; 113(3): 297-306
