Question on Ragers

Anyone feel free to answer.

I always hear and see in game about ragers always attacking and chasing people that they have seen use, or be associated with magic.

My question is, can they still be ragers, I mean, usually, the rager has some grudge against magic, though it has to do with stuff that never happened in game, only in their created RP history. Can their grudge against magic take place after their character has entered the game? Like being doublecrossed by a mage when you were hunting/ranking.
