My two interactions with (though I didn't know it at the time) Scarabaeus... :

First, as the Lord Captain of Darsylon (Lord Dan-a-whatever), slapping me around in Darsylon just as Agorinth began to consider the Empire/Darsylon war. I had a certain IC problem with pure-blood elves (owing to some childhood events... man ,the Role command would have been handy for explaining all of this.), and ranked myself from 20 to 29 absolutely solo, mostly in Darsylon. Many, many elven soldiers had perished by my hand, and Lord Dan stepped in to remind me that I was still a novice who wasn't ready to party with the big boys yet. (Flurry is a painful thing.)

Second, as a more sinister visitor from below who took an interest in Stahlhagen for a certain timely assassination of someone he found more... useful. Stahl's "relationship" with that figure was complicated, as he constantly weighed his options- he knew he could not be rid of its attention, so it came down to trying to toady his way into favor, or plot his revenge. He ended up trying to both, neither particularly well, but it led to a re-thinking of Stahlhagen's role, and a chance to interact with several very interesting Therans who otherwise wouldn't be caught dead hanging around an Imperial Blade. Scar gave me a push towards doing something a lot more interesting with Stahlhagen, which meshed well with his growing (IC) dislike of Agorinth's style, his unsuccessful attempt to be chosen War Master, and his quiet support of the Tower.

> Like the news media, we most often discuss what is bad, not good, in life. (Top stories on the evening news are rarely "People acted very nicely today." Instead it's "Plant worker used buzz-saw to kill 12, maimed 6.")

> One of the most fun parts of the game are the things you can't plan for, the surprises, the changes to the status quo. And these things most often come in the form of Imm's coming down to "earth" and switching into mobs, or talking to mortals directly as a God.

> Here, then, is a thread where I'd like to see your personal best in this regard. The imm/switched mob interaction you had that was the best. Pick one you think was the must fun, most interested, best roleplayed, whatever. Choose your own criteria. If you have the log of it, that's even better, but if not, a simple description will suffice.

> As for me, I've been lucky enough to have had *alot* of imm interaction, either directly or through switched mobs. (Some has been bad, of course, with a few imms who I don't get along with, but lets shy away from that here. :P) Lots of switched mobs in hell, etc. But the one interaction that stands out in my mind is when I as Gorgidas was trying to get Jullias' tattoo. Jullias switched into a duergar mob and had that mob start talking to me, saying he'd heard I was looking for the God, etc. He had a good "accent", used an interesting form of speech, had me walk all over thera for a bit, entertained in our conversation, and then eventually led me to the shrine where Jullias himself came and interviewed me as himself. It was about an hour, all told, and it was a fun way to do something that often is just a "go to shrine/get trans'd to imm room/ask questions/answer questions/finish." So, kudos to him.
