I would chose shapeshifter. It is so much more fun. Hold almost never works, and the form you will receive as arcane is hard to fight with. But, as Rome says, you can hide perfect as arcane drow. Hiding is only fun in start, gets lame fast and is not all the useful for pk since you pop out of DUO at each 'who'/'where'/'where-pk' if someone on the list. Another 'bug' with duo: You can walk to the village, Spam c 'hold' rager (he can't see you) but as he passes you get the message "You can not affect someone not in the same dimension".
Go with shape, more fun.
