I think a druid imperial would be fantastically enjoyable. You could work towards starting and tending to an herbery in the Imperial City. You could direct the Imperial slaves towards the trees most suitable for building and those best for burning. Generally showing the Imperials how best to utilize the resources found in the wildlands. It takes a lot of animals to feed an Empire you know, at some point somebody has to be there to point to the ones worth eating and the ones that will cause immediate death due to poisonous sections and what-not. This same role is one I've used for imperial rangers and such though I usually thought of myself as an Imperial Game Warden when I played the ranger. He didn't last long though as I came up with something else to play. What you said is true those SM, there's a lot of divided interests, but rationalizing them towards the Empire is what would make a char like this very fun IMHO.
