I would suggest a felar or arial assassin, due to their versatility.

1)They can see most people coming. You can thus avoid most pk situations entirely should you so choose.
2)They can hide from a good deal of the CF populace. This makes avoiding pk even easier, and allows you to take many others by surprise quite easily, making you considerably more affective in a pk situation.
3)They can stand toe-to-toe with all of the other fighting classes.
4)They can severely weaken several classes with tiger claw. (bards, necros, invokers, arcane 'muters, etc.)
5)Vanish is bad-assed. I've found this to be a really usefull and versatile skill. Obviously, its primary use is to escape from pk.
6)Assassinate.

Really, I could go on and on. I think this makes a pretty convincing case though.
