I was just thinking that with the high hit points, low dex, maybe a more defensively-oriented spec is what a dwarf could use.. > > sparky > Spear would be a tough choice for a dwarf, since spear/staff is primarily defensive (and any defensive spec heavily relies upon dex). You can do this if you are looking for a challenge... it would definitely go against the norms of the class, since you would be a mediocre tank at best. Unhasted, I doubt you could beat any other warrior class in a fair fight. > Polearm for dwarves, however, is a good match. I had a dwarven warrior with polearm/hth, and I had a very successful reign. If you learn ways of gaining enlarge, you are a particularly nasty tank and killer, all in one. Cutoff and parting blow together with legsweep/bash can seal the doom of the majority of people trying to flee. > Probably the most overused spec for dwarves is mace, and for good reason... there's plenty of (relatively) light maces they can pick up, the ability to use shield for tanking without compromising the majority of their specs, and the ability to deal out major damage in a hurry against the majority of classes. Dex isn't much of a factor here, since you will rarely go through your HP fast enough to be concerned about dying, unless you lose your weapons (or fail several boneshatters in a row). > Mehan
