Along these same lines, it is easier to carry about 15-20 different items and drop one in each room. Then you can tell which room it is without having to pick up gold and count. An even easier way for classes with summon is to summon a different mob that don't walk to each room, then you can scan and see them and know which room is which without even walking in.
