I found them to be very frustrating to play. They have trouble standing up to any competent ones.
Against mages they are a bit better, but that's the case with every class when a mage is lower.
I found their ranger staff nearly worthless as the healing didn't work enough to help much and the
staff didn't parry as well as any sword I wielded. It also seemed to be parried more than any of the
other weapons I used. My skill with sword and staff and axe were perfected, but didn't seem to make
much difference. Creep and ambush were nice, but limited. Bearcharge isn't bad though. Was nice to
lag someone at least a bit. For hiding and remaining unseen rangers are great, but you really can't
leave the forested areas and expect to win many fights. Just what I've seen. I played a human ranger
btw. That was my first attempt since the changes were made. Compared to the old rangers, I didn't like
them as much. Having creep and ambush lag times cut down was a great benefit though.
I think my ranger was almost 40th ranked when I got rid of him.
